Z-Tech is involved in the breast cancer research, and the clinical trials of various drugs.

Business Challenge:

At Z-Tech, the nurses required to prepare a daily progress report for the drug trials on the patients. Not only for the research, these reports are key for the approval of concerned drugs.

To save on paper and time, Z-Tech decided to invest in an application, which would allow nurses to prepare their daily progress reports electronically in a PDF format.

Solution requirements:

• Ability to sign PDF documents digitally
• Ability to associate handwritten signatures with digital signatures
• Support for online and offline certificate revocation checking
  

E-Lock Solution:

Keeping in mind the critical requirements, E-Lock provided Z-Tech with its desktop digital signature software, ProSigner. Z-Tech deployed E-Lock ProSigner on all nursing stations where the attendant nurse digitally signs the daily progress reports.

Z-Tech preferred ProSigner to Adobe Acrobat because of its following advantages:

• Visible signature status for Acrobat documents i.e. signature status shown at top left corner of the signature block
• Signer can associate the reason for signing, location, signing comment (if any) etc. to the document
• Support for OCSP, CAM validation
• Cross compatibility i.e. Acrobat file signed in one version can be verified through another version.
• Time stamping the document at the time of signing
• No specific Certificate Authority required
• Verification through a free verification utility, E-Lock Reader
